Teaching Interests

Dr. Cemelus is deeply committed to advancing evidence-based education in physician assistant training. Her teaching interests center on behavioral medicine, psychoneuroendocrinology, and integrative models of patient care. She focuses on helping students apply evidence-based clinical decision-making while fostering interprofessional collaboration and patient-centered communication. Additionally, she is passionate about curriculum design, innovation in didactic pedagogy, and creating engaging learning environments that prepare future physician assistants for complex, multidisciplinary healthcare settings.

Scholarly Interests

Dr. Cemelus鈥檚 scholarly interests focus on the intersection of psychiatry, endocrinology, and education. Her research explores the role of GLP-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) in metabolic and psychiatric disorders, emphasizing the neuroendocrine mechanisms that influence mood, cognition, and behavior. She is also interested in the evolving role of telepsychiatry and digital health integration in PA education, as well as in developing and assessing evidence-based curricula that enhance clinical reasoning, empathy, and interprofessional competence among future clinicians.
