Health professions pathway
The Health Professions Pathway is designed to prepare students to pursue medical, dental, pharmacy, physician assistant, and other health professions schools. The basic science courses parallel those found in the first year of health professions school or graduate school. You鈥檒l focus on building a strong foundation in health science courses, including anatomy, pathophysiology, biochemistry, genetics, and more. The curriculum is designed to improve听the foundation of knowledge and provide access to research, community service, leadership, and direct patient care experiences needed to strengthen your application. In addition, the curriculum includes standardized exam preparation to improve exam scores.
Larkin U has several affiliation agreements with U.S. Medical Schools and Caribbean Medical Schools. We also have a guaranteed interview agreement with LU Physician Assistant Program, LU Dental School (2027), and LU Medical School (2028).听 听Students are guaranteed interviews at these schools, provided they meet the professional school guidelines and minimum GPA requirements during the MBS program (more info at FAQs below).
The master鈥檚 degree in biomedical sciences consists of 33 credit hours taken over a 1-year period (3 semesters).

Pre-health advising is readily accessible and available to every student during and after the one-year program.听
Applicants for the M.S. in Biomedical Sciences must:
- Earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree from a regionally accredited or internationally recognized college or university with a record of satisfactory academic work at the baccalaureate and/or graduate level.
- Complete all prerequisite coursework.
- Prefer an undergraduate GPA of 2.7 or better on a 4.0听 scale.
- Two letters of recommendation, if available
- PLEASE NOTE, Health professions standardized test scores (MCAT, DAT, PCAT, VAT) are NOT required

International Students Requirements
- International students applying for admission and who have completed coursework outside the United States at a non-American institution must have their foreign transcript evaluated. The credential evaluation is completed by organizations accredited by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services(NACES). A list of these organizations can be found at .
- An English proficiency examination score for the TOEFL will be required for admissions if the applicant does not meet the following criteria:
听 听 听 听–Completed one full-time academic year in a degree-seeking program at a college/university where English is the language of instruction. The institution must be recognized/regionally accredited in the United States or deemed equivalent as part of the credential evaluation.
听 听 听 听-Holds an earned equivalent of an associate degree (or higher) from a college or university where English is the language of instruction. The institution must be recognized/regionally accredited in the United States or deemed equivalent as part of the credential evaluation.
- TOEFL requirement:听minimum acceptable score: TOFEL (iBT): 80
*English language score reports are valid for two years from the date of testing and must be reported electronically to Larkin University. LU’s TOFEL school code is D530.

- Biochemistry: 1 semester (or equivalent) 3 credits
- General Chemistry: 2 semesters (or equivalent) 6 credits
- Organic Chemistry: 2 semesters (or equivalent) 6 credits
- Physics: 2 semesters (or equivalent) 6 credits
- Mathematics听(college level): 1 semester (or equivalent) 3 credits. Calculus is not required. Statistics is acceptable.
- Humanities/Social Sciences: 1 semester (or equivalent) 3 credits
PA Pathway
- Biology: 2 semesters (or equivalent) 8 credits
- Biochemistry: 1 semester (or equivalent) 3 credits
- General Chemistry: 2 semesters (or equivalent) 8 credits
- Inorganic or Organic Chemistry with Lab: 1 semester (or equivalent) 4 credits
- Microbiology with Lab: 1 semester (or equivalent) 4 credits
- Mathematics听(college level): 1 semester (or equivalent) 3 credits
- Statistics or Calculus: 1 semester (or equivalent) 3 credits
- Humanities/Social Sciences: 1 semester (or equivalent) 3 credits

- Application Deadlines:听 Fall Semester Start (Sept): July 15th; Spring Semester Start (Jan): Dec 15th
- We only accept completion of coursework with a grade of C- or better. Any courses in which you received a D+, D, or D- must be retaken.
- All required prerequisite coursework is based on semester credit hours.
- Accepted applicants are required to pay a $250. non-refundable matriculation fee (deposit) to reserve your seat in the class.
- Please note, accepted students must secure education funding before the start of classes.听 Tuition payment for each semester is due on the first day of class.听 Failure to secure funding will result in withdraw of program.听 Applicants are encouraged to apply early.听 Please see Office of Financial Aid and Student Access webpage for additional information.

Research PATHWAY
Thank you for your interest in the Master of Biomedical Sciences Program, Research Pathway at Larkin University.
Larkin University has created a unique research pathway that provides students an opportunity to earn a Biomedical Science degree while participating in bench-top and clinical research.听 Students are mentored by international research professors, tailored to student career goals. Gain experience with modern laboratory techniques and equipment, giving the student a competitive edge for a research career or听for graduates of a medical school, enhance your application to a residency program.
Research Pathway Requirements:

Larkin University has partnered with the (WAUSM) to offer a unique and exclusive pathway for aspiring physicians. Students who successfully complete the Biomedical Sciences program and meet eligibility requirements are guaranteed acceptance into WAUSM鈥檚 MD program鈥攏o additional interview required. This pathway provides a seamless transition from our student-centered, science-rich curriculum to WAUSM鈥檚 innovative, hands-on medical training in Freeport, Grand Bahama.

Security Deposit
A non-refundable Security Deposit of $250 is due to 鈥渉old your seat鈥� in the Class. This fee will be applied to your 1st-semester tuition. Please pay through our secure, online payment system.
