Larkin University has been a blessing for me. I did not know what my plans would be for the year 2021-2022. I was working full-time, finishing up a post-bac program, and trying to prepare to apply to dental schools. Seeing my grades and scores were not where they needed to be, I had to research applying to numerous master programs around the country. Larkin was one of those schools and I was able to get accepted into the program. They gave us the option to do online or in-person learning for the year, and I was able to do online due to having to stay at my current job and near my family. I was even able to visit my professors and classmates a few times in MIA! The learning style challenged me academically in a way I've never really seen before. Our professors were great. They challenged us in studying and learning not only as a student, but as a clinician as well. Everything we did was health-based. Completing this program is one of the most rewarding accomplishments for me. I am very grateful for how close we are with our professors and dean of the university. It has helped me learn new study habits, test- taking strategies, and critical thinking. I look forward to hearing about the continued growth of the College of Biomedical Sciences听

This past year as a student at Larkin University has not only equipped me with the knowledge and habits to be successful at the next step in my journey, but it also instilled an even greater sense of confidence in me. Larkin鈥檚 Master鈥檚 program has cemented my drive to become an adept PA; while simultaneously allowing me to prove to myself that I have the discipline to overcome any obstacle that I may encounter. I was never one to have relationships with my professors, however I will always consider Dr. Perez and Dr. Bidot mentors. They have left a lasting impact on me. I truly believe that this program has given me a competitive advantage, and I have been left with such appreciation for Dr. Echols, Dr. Perez, Dr. Bidot, and Larkin University.

The program offered at Larkin University is a wonderful thing that gives people like me an opportunity to have a competitive chance for medical or dental school. I really love how everything is set up with the teachers and the students. What I mean by this is that the teachers feel as though they really want you to succeed instead of just going through the motions for their next paycheck. In addition to this is a great community with the students on how people help each other study and grow. I would honestly take the year we had together again if I could since it not only helped me academically but also grow as a person with better study habits and reached out to people in the community we had. Larkin University gave me the opportunity that not many schools did. They saw a future in me. Coming to Larkin, I learned so much more than I expected to learn, not only from my classes but about myself. The professors and administration always consider your best interest before making decisions, which I loved. I believe that Larkin has prepared me for even more heights that I will make in my future. They have given me the confidence and stepping stool to do so, and I can't wait to see what my future has in store for me.听听

My name is Mateya Carson and I graduated from the Larkin University Biomedical Master鈥檚 degree program in Summer 2022. I relocated from Charleston, SC and had never even visited the city of Miami, FL. I pursued my master鈥檚 only after a stressful gap year where I felt lost in where I fit in the pre-medical crowd. Larkin University greatly exceeded my expectations in every way. Although the school is still establishing their name in the realm of postbacs, the administration and staff welcomed me with open arms and supported me throughout my year. And this was achieved with not only their resources, but their sound advice and their genuine care for the student鈥檚 education and personal wellbeing. I feel that this program is one that is necessary in these times, an undiscovered gem because although they have a set mission and protocol, they are still very open to making adjustments that work for each incoming class. Aside from the lectures and presentations I believe we all had a bond with our professors and each other that made learning from them much more enjoyable. Transparency and consideration for all is an element they hone, and it is reflected as the students also develop a sense of belonging and the mindset that their excellence is achievable.

My experience at Larkin University was something special. I never heard anything about Larkin until I was looking up post-bac programs on the AAMC website. I gave them a call and ended up talking to Dr. Echols for 3 hours. Once I made the decision to attend Larkin, I was pushed by faculty members just as Dr. Echols said I would be. Having experienced physicians as professors gave me a better understanding of what to expect in the near future. The small class sizes at Larkin made me comfortable to ask questions and work with my classmates. If you鈥檙e a pre- med or pre-dental and you want to prepare yourself for the rigors of professional school, Larkin University is the place for you!
